An unfortunate incident occurred on the Koko-Jega road in Kebbi, resulting in the loss of Inspector Sa’idu Idiya's life. The Kebbi Police Command confirmed the tragedy in a statement issued by spokesperson Nafi’u Abubakar.

According to Abubakar, the fatal accident took place at approximately 10:00 AM on 25/11/2023. A Police Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number 5465D, carrying a team of officers led by ACP Suleiman Sade, AC CID of Kebbi Police Command, and nine others, was en route to investigate a crime scene in Kendawa village, Dutsinmari District of Koko/Besse Local Government Area.

The mishap occurred when the vehicle, upon reaching the NNPC area at Koko, experienced a burst rear tire, causing it to somersault three times into the nearby bush.

A prompt response from the Koko Division's Police team led to the evacuation of the victims to General Hospital Koko for treatment. Unfortunately, Inspector Sa’idu Idiya of the SCID succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by a medical professional.

Subsequently, the remains of Inspector Idiya, along with the other victims, were transferred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kebbi, for further medical attention.

In expressing condolences, the PPRO extended prayers for the peaceful repose of Inspector Sa’idu Idiya's soul in Jannatul Firdaus.
