The provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations by the Super Eagles has been revealed to the public. Head coach Jose Peseiro reportedly included 40 players on the provisional list, with newcomers such as goalkeepers Stanley Nwabili and Christian Nwoke, as well as Alhassan Yusuf.
Peseiro is required to reduce the roster to 27 players by January 3, 2024.
The Super Eagles are placed in Group A alongside hosts Cote d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
The three-time champions will kick off their campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 14.
