Napoli ponder Osimhen- Hojlund swap with United
Napoli are reportedly considering a deal with Manchester United in which former Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund would join the Maradona in exchange for Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.Manchester United is one of several European clubs hoping to sign Napoli's Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray in Turkey.
The Partenopei had hoped to sell Osimhen permanently during the summer transfer window, but negotiations failed spectacularly on deadline day, resulting in the Nigerian signing a new contract extension and moving on loan to Galatasaray.
Osimhen is currently contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2026, but the club has the option to extend the contract for another year until 2027 if they are unable to sell this summer.
According to Calciomercato.com, Manchester United are willing to offer Hojlund as part of a player-plus-cash package for Osimhen, as the Denmark international is unlikely to be part of Ruben Amorim's plans for next season, especially if the Red Devils sign a marquee centre-forward in the summer.
Napoli is also reportedly interested in former Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, but United is more likely to part ways with Hojlund, given that the Dutchman can play multiple positions in the attack.
According to Sunday's report, Napoli is closely monitoring the situation and will need to make a statement signing or two if they want Antonio Conte to stay after the summer.
Calciomercato also reports that Napoli is in advanced talks with Lille over Kosovan winger Edon Zhegrova, who has also been linked with a move to Juventus.
