Empoli, who are facing challenges in Serie A, dismiss their second coach of the seasonv

Empoli, currently grappling in Serie A, dismissed coach Aurelio Andreazzoli on Monday, ending his four-month tenure. The 70-year-old had been appointed last September, succeeding Paolo Zanetti, who was terminated after a humiliating 7-0 defeat against Roma.

The Tuscan club has secured the services of Davide Nicola, 50, on a one-year contract, with the possibility of an additional season.

In a press statement, Empoli expressed their "most sincere thanks to Mr. Andreazzoli for the efforts put forth in the last few months," along with appreciation for his two assistants, who were also let go.

Empoli currently occupies the 19th position in the table, accumulating 13 points from 20 games. Their recent 2-1 loss against relegation rivals Hellas Verona further complicates their standing.
