EPL: I Requested Harry Kane, Man Utd Signed Hojlund – Ten Hag

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag disclosed that he had hoped to sign Harry Kane last summer, but the club opted to bring in Rasmus Hojlund instead.

United acquired Hojlund from Atalanta for £72 million, while Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham for £100 million.

In his first season at Old Trafford, Hojlund has scored eight goals in 26 Premier League matches, whereas Kane has netted 35 goals in 31 Bundesliga games for Bayern.

"We've made some choices with players like Rasmus Hojlund.

"I see a striker who's already proven, someone we wanted to sign but couldn't get. So we turned to Rasmus because he's a talent," Ten Hag said

When asked if he was referring to Harry Kane, Ten Hag replied, "Yes, and you know Harry Kane will get you 30 goals.

"I believe Rasmus will reach that level, but he needs time. It's not fair to compare him to Harry Kane. I would never compare two players because they are very different."
