Kwankwaso's Team Responds to Ganduje's Remark on FCT Ministerial Exclusion

The group supporting Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has criticized Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for his recent statements. Ganduje had taunted Kwankwaso about not being selected as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), suggesting that President Bola Tinubu saw through his desperation.

Ganduje asserted that Kwankwaso had supported the controversial demolition of buildings, approved during his tenure as Kano governor, under the pretext of improving Kano's master plan.

Kwankwaso spoke about this matter in Hausa on Monday while receiving a delegation of his loyalists and party supporters from Kano State at the NNPP's National Secretariat in Abuja.

In response, Ladipo Johnson, the spokesperson for the NNPP Presidential Campaign Council, told The Punch that Ganduje is attempting to regain attention. Johnson dismissed Ganduje's significance and stated that Kwankwaso would not waste time addressing him, as he holds no importance.

He said: “Does anyone really still listen to what Ganduje says? The fact that he is the APC national chairman doesn’t mean that he is a rational human being. That is all I have to say.

“We are not going to waste our time on somebody who is inconsequential, no matter what the APC thinks they are doing. It is as simple as that.”
