Ifeanyi Ubah Explains Reasons for Switching from YPP to APC

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South in the National Assembly, explained that his decision to leave the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) stemmed from the overwhelming disagreements within his former party. Ubah cited the commendable leadership exhibited by President Bola Tinubu as a key factor in joining the APC.

He praised President Tinubu's understanding of people's challenges and his ability to offer consolation, emphasizing the President's capacity to lead the country towards progress and development. While acknowledging the historical difficulty for Igbo people to align with national parties due to sentiments and emotions, Ubah urged fellow Igbo individuals to recognize the positive impact President Tinubu has had on Lagos, with many deriving their wealth from his legacy.

Ubah highlighted President Tinubu's inclusivity by appointing Dave Umahi as the Minister of Works, despite a low voter turnout for him in the region. He stressed that President Tinubu's willingness to reward those who didn't vote for him made it compelling for him to align with the central party.

The Anambra politician expressed confidence in delivering Anambra to the APC, pledging action over mere words. He conveyed his concerns about the South East to the President and received assurance of support. Ubah concluded by stating, “It is not all about talking. It is about doing. I believe in action, and I am going to deliver. I have made my complaints to Mr. President in front of the Senate President, and Mr. President has graciously given me his words that he will support me.”
