Tinubu sacks PTAD boss 13 months after re-appointment

President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Dr. Chioma Ejikeme from her position as the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, just 13 months after her reappointment for another four-year term.

A statement released on Monday by Olugbenga Ajayi, Head of the Corporate Communications Unit of PTAD, confirmed that Tolulope Odunaiya has been named the new executive secretary.

The announcement mentioned that Odunaiya officially took office on November 18, 2024, at the PTAD Headquarters, taking over from Ejikeme, who held the position from August 2019 until November 2024.

In October 2023, Tinubu had reappointed Ejikeme to continue as PTAD’s executive secretary.

During her initial address to the staff, Odunaiya committed to building on the accomplishments of her predecessors while promoting a culture of teamwork and unity.

She expressed, “It is with a strong sense of duty and determination that I speak to you as the new Executive Secretary of this Directorate. I would like to start by recognizing the outstanding work of those who came before me and the commitment of everyone who has played a part in our journey to this moment.”

She highlighted her goal of establishing a cooperative work atmosphere, stating, “My aspiration is for a directorate where every person feels valued, empowered, and inspired to contribute meaningfully.”

“I encourage us all to rise above individual interests and unite around our common goal: enhancing the lives of our pensioners, who have dedicated themselves to this nation, often facing difficult circumstances.”
