Solo London-to-Lagos driver, Pelumi Nubi, escapes auto accident

Pelumi Nubi, a 28-year-old travel content creator, who undertook a solo journey from London to Lagos, emerged unscathed from a crash on Tuesday.

Nubi revealed the incident through a post on her verified Instagram page, accompanying it with a video displaying the extensively damaged vehicle, notably the front and shattered windshield.

In the caption, she requested prayers, emphasizing her desire to demonstrate that "impossible" is merely a word. Nubi asserted that with sufficient determination and perseverance, obstacles can be overcome.

She outlined her route, beginning in England, then crossing into France, followed by Spain and Morocco.

She continued, “From there, it's across the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Togo, Benin, and ultimately Nigeria, arriving in Lagos. We'll adapt as needed along the way!”

She mentioned conversing with individuals who had undergone similar adventures, highlighting that while no black woman had previously embarked on such a journey, her motivation wasn't to set a record.

Currently, information regarding the accident's location, cause, and the severity of her injuries remains unclear.

Nuni commenced her journey on January 31, 2024, encountering several challenges throughout her expedition.
