Pastor and Congregation Robbed During Church Service in South Africa

A pastor and members of his congregation in South Africa fell victim to an armed robbery during a church service at the Ghanaian Church of Pentecost in Johannesburg. The pastor was delivering his sermon when armed robbers entered, brandishing pistols and instructing worshippers to lie on the floor. They forcefully took mobile phones and valuables from the congregation and later targeted the pastor, coercing him to lead them to the Church's money storage area. The pastor was then abducted and taken to an undisclosed location.

The Ghana High Commission in Pretoria expressed concern over the incident and stated that they are working with the church and the South Africa Police Service to ensure the speedy and safe release of the kidnapped victim. The South African Police Service is actively involved in the case to secure the safe return of the pastor and other victims. The High Commission also advised the Ghanaian community to take precautions for their safety and well-being to prevent such incidents in the future.
