One Fatally Electrocuted, Two Arrested for Cable Theft

The Ogun State Police Command has verified the electrocution incident of an unidentified individual in the Day Waterman area near the Kobape region of the state. The person in question was in the process of cutting a cable belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company when the unfortunate event occurred.

According to our sources, a staff member from the Owode Egba branch of IBEDC reported the incident to the police. Confirming the occurrence, Omolola Odutola, the Public Relations Officer of the command, informed our correspondent that the "corpse has been taken to the Ogun State Teaching Hospital Sagamu for autopsy."

Likewise, two temporary employees of Quantum Packaging Company, Igbesa, were taken into custody for purportedly pilfering a cable believed to be company property. Our correspondent learned that the Chief Security Officer of the company, Okoi Akilepo, initially apprehended the suspects during a foot patrol before turning them over to the police.

Odutola, speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday, disclosed that both individuals had admitted to committing the crime.
