Ondo, Ekiti to witness two-month power outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced plans to do critical maintenance on the 132kV Akure Osogbo transmission line.

According to a public notification obtained by Nigerianwatch on Sunday, the upgrade will disrupt electricity delivery in Ondo and Ekiti states for two months.

The warning also stated that the impacted states will endure daily power outages of nine hours, beginning Monday, July 1 and ending August 31.

"Please be advised that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is planned to do important maintenance work on the 132kV Akure-Osogbo transmission line. The planned work includes the installation of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) and other activities. To ensure a safe working environment, the impacted network will need to be down.

"Customers in the impacted locations will face service disruptions during the planned outages. We sincerely apologies for any inconvenience this may create and respectfully request your patience and understanding," the TCN notification stated.
