Nigeria is grappling with internal conflicts; a new one is unnecessary — Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), emphasized that Nigeria, currently contending with internal conflicts, does not require an additional war.

Adeboye conveyed this message during the RCCG Holy Ghost Service held as part of the 71st Annual Convention, themed 'Beyond Expectations,' at the Redemption Camp, situated along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, on Friday.

"We are still engaged in battles against hunger, confronting significant challenges. Certainly, we do not desire further conflicts."

"We aspire to triumph in the conflicts we are presently engaged in, and we are resolute in our aversion to fresh confrontations, whether they arise within our borders or externally," Adeboye expressed.

He elaborated on his personal experience of witnessing the Nigerian Civil War between July 1967 and January 1970, underscoring his preference for peace over conflict based on what he observed.

Adeboye stated, "Nigeria remains in need of extensive prayers. Despite my relative youthfulness, I found myself near the battle lines during the civil war. While not as a soldier, I dwelled in close proximity to the frontlines. Based on what I witnessed, if I were asked to choose between war and peace, I would unhesitatingly opt for peace."

The preacher highlighted Nigeria's ongoing battles against kidnappers, terrorists, and violent herdsmen, among other challenges. He emphasized that the nation's focus should be on prevailing in its current struggles rather than inviting additional conflicts.

"And already, we are grappling with numerous battles within Nigeria. We confront kidnappings, wage war against terrorists, and there are regions where individuals retire to bed uncertain if they will witness the next sunrise unharmed.

"We are embroiled in disputes against those who consider that when you sow as a farmer, your harvest becomes fodder for their cattle. If their livestock consume your yield and you voice objections, they resort to violence," Pastor Adeboye conveyed.
