NNPC Retail Dismisses Speculation of Petrol Price Hike

Contrary to emerging concerns, the retail division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has strongly refuted any possibility of an impending rise in the petrol pump price.

Independent oil marketers have cautioned that the cost of petrol at the pump could surge to a range of N680 to N720 per liter if the dollar maintains its exchange rate between N910 and N950 in the parallel market.

Adding to the discourse, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) issued a stern warning of an indefinite nationwide strike if the petrol pump price is subject to further increments.

In response to these apprehensions, the retail branch of NNPCL took to its official social media handle, previously known as Twitter, on Monday night. Through a tweet, the company reassured its valued customers that there are no intentions to elevate the prices of petrol at their retail outlets. The tweet conveyed:

"Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPCL Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated. Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPCL retail stations nationwide."
