NITDA partners Flutterwave, Alami to drive fintech growth in Nigeria

The National Information Technology Development Agency has formed a strategic partnership with Flutterwave and Alami to boost Nigeria's digital economy.

This collaboration was formalised by a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director-General of NITDA, Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave, and Ms. Olu White, CEO of Alami.

The agreement, signed during a meeting between NITDA's Director-General and the CEOs of Flutterwave and Alami, outlines key areas of collaboration to speed up Nigeria's digital transformation.

"This partnership is a vital step towards achieving shared goals for digital transformation in the country, showcasing the commitment to the betterment of Nigeria in line with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda," says NITDA.

According to NITDA, the partnership will focus on key initiatives, such as:

Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships: Improving digital payment infrastructure and technology financing to boost Nigeria's digital economy.

Digital Nigeria Week 2025: A platform for showcasing payment innovations, hosting workshops and panel discussions, assisting SMEs and startups, and strengthening partnerships in the technology ecosystem.

Supporting NITDA's Key Initiatives: Aligning with strategic programs such as NDEPS, SRAP 2.0, innovation and entrepreneurship programs, digital literacy and skills development, and cybersecurity enhancement.

NITDA's partnership with Flutterwave, a leading African payments technology company, and Alami, a key FinTech player, aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive digital growth.
The collaboration aims to empower SMEs, increase digital literacy, and create a secure, resilient digital ecosystem in Nigeria.

As part of its digital transformation strategy, NITDA recently collaborated with National Youth Service Corp to train 30 million Nigerians in digital skills.
