Governor Lawal has directed the immediate upgrade of Talata Mafara General Hospital
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has expressed grave concerns regarding the deteriorating state of Talata Mafara Local Government Area’s General Hospital.
He has ordered its immediate renovation and upgrade, emphasizing his administration's commitment to fulfilling campaign promises made in 2023, which include prioritizing security, health, agriculture, education, and other key sectors.
"We will completely renovate and upgrade the hospital, equipping it to serve as a central hub for health services in the zone," he stated, emphasizing the importance of efficient healthcare delivery in the area.
In addition to this directive, Governor Lawal commissioned two significant projects in Bakura and Maradun local government areas as part of the celebrations marking his administration's first anniversary.
The renovated College of Agriculture and Technology in Bakura, which had become obsolete over two decades, received a much-needed facelift and essential facilities to enhance agricultural education.
"We have upgraded the institution to the College of Agriculture and Technology, Bakura, aiming to introduce technical disciplines to facilitate its transition from a mono-technic to a polytechnic," Governor Lawal explained.
The renovation works included refurbishing the administrative block, agricultural laboratory, biology laboratory, science laboratory, lecture hall, and hostels. Additionally, two blocks of VIP toilets and a laundry facility were constructed, along with the rehabilitation of the college’s water system.
During his visit to Maradun LGA, Governor Lawal assessed the progress of the renovation of the General Hospital, Maradun. The comprehensive project involves renovating the Admin Block, male and female wards, staff quarters, mortuary, main theatre block, and two toilets, among other facilities.
