Alli's military career included serving as the Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) and achieving the rank of the 9th Chief of Army Staff.

Born on December 25, 1944, in Koton Karfe, Kogi State, General Chris Alli began his military journey on October 20, 1967, as a member of the Emergency Short Service Combatant Course. He held various roles in the Nigerian Army, contributing to the nation's defense and rising through the ranks. Alli also served as the Military Administrator of Plateau State at one point in his career.
