Bandits in Kaduna claim one life and abduct seven women
Bandits struck Banono settlement in Angwaku community, Kufana Chiefdom, Kaduna State, on Thursday, kidnapping eight individuals and claiming one life. Stephen Makori, the Kufana Kaduna District Superintendent, confirmed the incident, stating that the bandits raided homes, looted valuable possessions, stole money, food items, and two motorcycles.
Christopher Zamani lost his life in the attack, and a woman sustained a bullet wound. The abducted victims include Tina Bulus, Alice Joshua, Sarah Micah, Kaduna Fidelis (male), Janet Amos, Martha Peter, Rita Geoffrey, and Favour Ado. Mary Isah, who sustained injuries, received medical attention at Nasara Maternity Clinic in Maraban Kajuru.
In a related development, 24 villagers who were kidnapped from Budah community in the same local government area on Monday have now been reunited with their families. Benjamin Yuhana, a resident of Tla, mentioned that they were able to return home without having to pay any ransom to the bandits. However, he noted that there are still others who remain in captivity.
