Air Peace resumes operations after NiMet strike suspension

Air Peace has declared that it will resume full flight operations on Friday, April 25, 2025, following the suspension of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency's industrial action by its workforce and unions.

Air Peace's Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Ndiulo, issued a statement on Thursday thanking passengers and partners for their patience during the strike-related service disruption.

"Air Peace is pleased to announce the resumption of all flight operations on Friday, April 25, 2025, following the suspension of the industrial action by NiMet and other unions in the aviation sector," according to a statement.

"We genuinely appreciate your patience, understanding, and unwavering support during this difficult period. "Your resilience and trust in our brand mean everything to us," Ndiulo concluded.

The airline also praised the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for his decisive intervention in breaking the deadlock.

"Keyamo's swift engagement with all stakeholders, his transparent approach to dialogue, and his unwavering dedication to the stability and progress of the aviation sector reflect a deep understanding of the critical role aviation plays in national development," according to the statement.

Air Peace had previously cancelled all flight operations nationally on Wednesday, claiming a lack of vital weather information due to the strike.

"Due to the ongoing NiMet strike and the lack of QNH (hazardous weather) data essential for safe landings, Air Peace has paused all flight operations nationally until the strike ends. "Your safety is our top priority," the airline had stated.

With operations due to restart, travellers should monitor official Air Peace channels for revised schedules and future announcements.
