Air Force apprehends 35-year-old kidnapper in Kano
Nigerian Air Force troops stationed in Durbunde, Takai Local Government Area of Kano State, successfully captured a 35-year-old high-profile kidnapper, identified as Isah Abdul.
The arrest occurred on Monday, February 19, around 6:30 pm, during a well-coordinated operation in Takai. The mission was based on credible intelligence regarding the hideout of the notorious kidnapper and his accomplices, who were linked to various kidnapping incidents in the region.
A preliminary investigation conducted by security agencies has revealed that Isah Abdul and his criminal gang were involved in the kidnapping of Yakubu Ibrahim Tagaho, widely known as "Sarkin Noman Gaya," on April 6, 2023.
The incident occurred at Tagaho Village in Takai Local Government Area of Kano. According to a press statement from the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the victim was released approximately a month later after paying a ransom of N30 million.
Furthermore, in December 2023, the accused criminal reportedly kidnapped two sisters and three others in the same village, releasing them only after receiving a substantial ransom.
The statement also claims that he was involved in various other kidnapping incidents, establishing connections with notorious kidnapping gangs, such as the Danbul Fulaku gang, which operates in Takai Local Government Area.
Isah Abdul is currently under the custody of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), undergoing investigations. He is expected to be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation soon.
