APC expresses sorrow over the passing of Ekiti chairman, Omotoso

The All Progressives Congress (APC) extends its sympathies to the family, colleagues, and friends of the late Ekiti State Chairman, Paul Omotoso.

Omotoso passed away early Wednesday after a brief illness, leaving a void in the party's leadership. The Imesi-Ekiti native had assumed the role of party chairman in October 2021 through a consensus at the congress held at the mini pavilion near the Fajuyi roundabout in Ado-Ekiti.

Prior to his election, Omotoso served as the APC caretaker committee chairman in the state. His contributions to the party and his leadership will be remembered and appreciated.

In 2023, the Ekiti APC chairman experienced a kidnapping incident but was fortunate to secure his release a few days later.

Responding in a tribute released in Abuja on Wednesday, Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, characterized his passing as a significant loss for the ruling party.

Morka also emphasized that his principles and managerial expertise will be greatly missed.

He remarked, "The All Progressives Congress expresses profound shock and sorrow at the demise of Paul Omotoso, the Party’s Chairman in Ekiti State.

"Omotoso, a grassroots politician hailing from Imesi-Ekiti, was not only a seasoned lawyer but also a distinguished administrator who stood as a stalwart of our progressive ideals. His departure is undeniably a significant setback for our esteemed Party, and his absence will be deeply felt.

"Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, the state chapter of our Party, the government, and the resilient people of Ekiti State during this challenging period. We also extend sympathies to the Forum of APC State Chairmen for the loss of their colleague.

"As we bid our final farewell, our collective responsibility is to uphold and advance the enduring legacy of service left by the late Omotoso. May Paul Omotoso's soul rest eternally in peace.
