A 37-year-old individual was fatally stabbed by members of the Shila Boys in Yola
The Adamawa Police Command has confirmed that the notorious Shila Boys were responsible for the killing of a 37-year-old man, Umar Abdulkadir.
According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Public Relations Officer of the command, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Saturday, provided this information.
Shila Boys are young individuals armed with light weapons, instilling fear in communities across Adamawa and various other locations.
Their expertise lies in the theft of mobile phones, jewelry, and other valuable items.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when these youths attempted to snatch Abdulkadir's mobile phones on Ajiya Street within the Yola-North Local Government Area.
According to Nguroje, the information regarding the incident reached the command at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday.
An investigation into the killing has been initiated to facilitate the apprehension of all individuals involved.
Sgt. Muhammad Abdulkadir, the deceased's brother, recounted that a group of approximately seven gang members armed with knives and other dangerous weapons invaded his brother's residence at 2:00 a.m.
Despite his efforts to escape, the deceased was unsuccessful, and the criminals proceeded to stab him in the stomach, causing his intestines to be exposed.
He additionally mentioned that the group seized the victim's two phones before fleeing, and sadly, he passed away at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital in Yola, where he had been urgently taken.
