$350m Cross River railway project gets mapping
The $350 million Grand Litora Railway project in Cross River State reached a significant milestone with the release of topographical maps for the first 104 kilometres of the Calabar-Ugep route.A statement from Rinehooke Investment Ltd, the project's backer, confirmed that the mapping was presented on New Year's Day at the Tinapa Free Zone Resort, demonstrating both Cross River State and Rinehooke Ltd's commitment to the project's success.
Bassey Otu, the governor of Cross River State, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the 365-kilometer railway line, which will connect all of the state's major cities.
Nelson Elemi, founding partner/chief executive officer of Rinehook Investment Ltd, commented on the railway's potential to transform tourism and boost regional development.

The railway project's main terminals will be in Calabar and Obudu, with substations in Ugep, Ikom, and Ogoja.
