Sanwo-Olu meets APC leaders, candidates ahead of LG poll

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has organized a meeting with party leaders and candidates in preparation for the Local Government Elections scheduled for July 12 in the state.

Mr. Seye Oladejo, the Publicity Secretary for the state All Progressives Congress, announced this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.

The gathering is intended to unite APC leaders, both elected and appointed officials, as well as all candidates running under the party's platform.

It is planned to take place at the State House in Marina.

“The gathering will act as the focal point for mobilizing our members ahead of the local government elections,” stated Oladejo.

He further noted that “the APC in Lagos State values the ongoing trust and support from residents for the party’s progressive values, which have fueled the unmatched growth in various sectors of the state.

“We are hopeful that the significant accomplishments of our local government councils in areas like education, primary health care, housing, and social initiatives will lead to substantial votes at the elections for all our candidates,” Oladejo asserted.

The News Agency of Nigeria mentions that the ruling party officially awarded flags to its 57 chairmanship and 376 councillorship candidates on Tuesday.

The flag-off ceremony, which also signified the start of the party's campaign for the elections, took place at the APC State Secretariat in Ogba.
