Olawoyin makes Super Lig TOTW

Multiple platforms have named Super Eagles midfielder Ibrahim Olawoyin to the Turkish Super Lig Team of The Week for matchday 20 after inspiring his club's 3-2 victory over Adana Demirspor on Sunday.

Olawoyin had a goal and an assist in the game, helping Caykur Rizespor to their eighth win of the season.

The 27-year-old opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a clinical finish into the bottom corner, assisted by Casper Højer. Shortly after the break, the Nigerian assisted Ali Sowe with a perfectly weighted through ball for Rizespor's second goal.

As a result of his outstanding performance for Rizespor, he was named midfielder to the Sofascore, BeIN Sport, Who Scored, and Super Lig Communio Teams of The Week.


The former Enugu Rangers star demonstrated his all-around ability by completing 53 touches, 26 accurate passes (81%) and one key pass.


Olawoyin completed three of five dribble attempts, created one big chance, and contributed defensively by winning nine ground duels and one aerial duel.

The performance marked the former Rangers International star's return to the starting lineup after recovering from an injury sustained against Besiktas on January 3.


This season, he has two goals and three assists in 18 league games.

The victory propelled Rizespor to eighth place on the log, ahead of a difficult trip to title contender Fenerbahçe next weekend.
