Gallagher set for €42m Atlético Madrid move

Conor Gallagher is close to completing a move to Atlético Madrid, with Chelsea allowing the midfielder to travel to Madrid within the next 24-48 hours.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Monday via X, the deal has already been completed for a €42 million fee, with Atlético manager Diego Simeone playing a key role in pushing for the transfer.

Gallagher, a Chelsea youth academy product, has impressed while on loan at Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old is known for his energy, work rate, and box-to-box abilities, which have earned him a call-up to the England national team.

Romano stated, "Understand Conor Gallagher has been authorised by Chelsea to travel to Madrid in the next 24/48 hours." The deal had already been completed for a €42 million fee, and Simeone was pushing again for it. All done between Gallagher and Atlético, and all done between Atléti and Chelsea.
