Falconets to face Ghana in African Games final

Nigeria's Under-20 female football team, the Falconets, have secured their spot in the final of the women's football event at the 13th African Games in Ghana. Following a convincing 2-0 victory over Uganda in the semi-final match played at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday, the Falconets are now gearing up to face Ghana in what promises to be an exciting showdown on Thursday. The Falconets displayed a strong performance throughout the tournament, and their upcoming clash against Ghana presents an opportunity for them to clinch the championship title.

Ghana secured their spot in the final by defeating the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal with a scoreline of 3-1.

The final showdown between Nigeria and hosts Ghana is scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday at 8 p.m. Simultaneously, Uganda will compete against Senegal for the bronze medal at the same venue on Thursday, kicking off at 5 p.m. It's worth noting that the Falconets clinched the gold medal in the previous edition of the event held in Rabat, Morocco, in 2019. The 13th African Games, which commenced on March 8, are set to conclude on March 23, spanning across three cities: Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast.
