Imo Deserves Better Governance, Says Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, expressed that the people of Imo State deserve better governance than what the current administration offers. Obi made this statement on Tuesday during the grand finale of Senator Athan Achonu's governorship campaign at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Complex in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The former governor of Anambra State urged Imo residents to be vigilant, defend their votes, and support Achonu, the LP's governorship candidate in the upcoming November 11 election. Obi highlighted the current challenges, including hardship, inflation, and insecurity, and emphasized that the LP has the potential to reposition the state for the better.

Obi criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, stating that it has done little to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian masses. He urged the people of Imo State to vote for the LP candidate and protect their votes, signaling a shift away from the APC administration.

Achonu, the LP's governorship candidate, also addressed the crowd, pledging to address insecurity, create jobs for unemployed youth, and promote local government autonomy if elected governor.
