The United Kingdom's monarch, King Charles III, has received a cancer diagnosis
Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles III has been diagnosed with a type of cancer and has initiated treatment, merely a week after being released from the hospital following prostate surgery.
After the announcement, Prince Harry, the estranged son of 75-year-old King Charles III, promptly revealed that he had discussed the diagnosis with his father. The younger son, currently residing in California with his wife Meghan, expressed his intention to travel to the UK in the coming days to be with his ailing father, as reported by a source close to Harry cited by the PA news agency.
King Charles III, who ascended to the throne following the demise of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022, has generally maintained good health, despite occasional injuries from activities like polo and skiing. However, the palace disclosed that during his recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate and concerning issue was identified.
