Taylor Swift surpasses Elton John's record for the highest-grossing music tour

Taylor Swift's 'Eras' tour has officially set a new record as the highest-grossing music tour in history, as confirmed by Guinness World Records on their website this Tuesday. Additionally, the 'Eras' tour achieved another milestone by becoming the first-ever music tour to exceed $1 billion in revenue.

Commencing in March 2023 and scheduled to conclude in December 2024 after a total of 151 global performances, the tour has amassed $1.04 billion (£840 million) in earnings, as reported by Pollstar. This figure surpasses the earnings of British icon Elton John's five-year farewell tour, which concluded earlier this year, generating $939 million (£749 million) across 328 shows.

Notably, Taylor Swift has recently secured a new Guinness World Record as the first musician to achieve billionaire status solely through music earnings.
