Seven family members perish in Kano due to a fire incident

An official from the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullah, reported that seven family members lost their lives in a fire outbreak near Tudun Wada Juma’at Mosque in Kano. The tragic incident took place on Sunday night, impacting the father, mother, and five of their children.

"At approximately 12:25 am, we received a distress call at Dakata fire station from Ibrahim Sani, notifying us of a fire outbreak in a building at Tudun Wada Quarters," Abdullah disclosed.

Upon receiving the information, our firefighting vehicle was promptly dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:30 am," he remarked.

He continued, stating that firefighters successfully evacuated seven unconscious victims from the two slightly burnt rooms and a parlor they occupied, rushing them to the hospital. "The doctor confirmed the demise of all seven individuals due to smoke inhalation," he added. Investigation results indicated that the fire, triggered by an electric spark, was already uncontrollable when the firefighters arrived.

He urged the public to exercise caution when handling electrical appliances and flammable materials to prevent fire incidents and other emergencies.
