Natasha’s recall attempt will fail, says aide

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator for Kogi Central, has stated that she is unconcerned about her constituents' attempts to recall her from office.

In an exclusive phone call with The PUNCH on Wednesday, the suspended legislator spoke through her media aide, Israel Arogbonlo.

According to NIGERIANWATCH, some people in Natasha's constituency have announced that they are starting a recall campaign against her.

On Wednesday, some electorates in the Okehi Local Government Area voted in favour of the recall.

One of the electorates, Nura Ibrahim, stated that the exercise is being carried out across party lines due to growing dissatisfaction with Akpoti-Uduaghan's performance, particularly on key issues such as poverty, infrastructure, and education.

However, Akpoti-Uduaghan's aide described the recall attempt as sponsored and stated that it would not stand.

"What you're seeing is sponsored by the fifth columnists." We have no reason to collaborate on issues with anyone. As far as we are concerned, the recall attempts would fail.

"We are not under any kind of pressure, and we never will be. "I hope you recall that our actual constituents protested two days ago that there was no plan to recall anyone," the aide said.
