Lokpobiri reveals Wike’s pivotal role in his appointment as minister
Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, credited Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, with securing his position.Lokpobiri made the announcement on Saturday at an event honoring Wike hosted by the Ijaw Peoples Congress in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital.
He revealed that his campaign for a ministerial position in President Tinubu's administration began at Nyesom Wike's home in Port Harcourt and ended at Wike's home in Abuja.
Lokpobiri stated, "It is important to tell you, my brothers and sisters, that me standing before you today as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources was also made possible by Nyesom Wike." You also heard the account of the NDDC's MD, who stated that the minister of the FCT had a direct role in his appointment.
"My own situation could have required a more direct role. Some of you might not know. It all began in Wike's house in Port Harcourt and ended in his home in Abuja. My second journey to become a minister began in Port Harcourt and ended in Abuja. It is critical for me to complete this history.
"Because when I looked at the welcome address, our names did not appear among those who had benefited from his generosity. I assumed that my name, Heineken Lokpobiri, would have been included among those he has assisted. However, because my name is not included, I must complete it. I want you, Ijaw people, to understand that we have a brother and a friend.
""It is always preferable to have a good friend over a bad brother. What purpose does a bad brother serve? It is of no use. However, if you have a good friend, like the FCT minister, you are already blessed.
"Your Excellency, the FCT minister, on behalf of the Ijaw people all over the world, I would like to express our gratitude to you for your love for the Ijaw people. We Ijaws are extremely grateful people. If you do us good, we will not repay you with evil. So we will always be grateful to you for what you have done for the Ijaw people. We look forward to you doing more for our Ijaw people."
