Ghanaian Speaker:Prefer Death over Legalization of LGBTQ Activities in Ghana

Ghanaian Speaker, Alban Bagbin, Chooses Death over Legalization of LGBTQ Activities in Ghana

During an interactive session with journalists in Tamale over the weekend, Bagbin expressed his firm stance against the legalization of LGBTQ rights in Ghana.

According to GhanaWeb, he emphasized that such rights would not be recognized during his tenure. Additionally, he claimed that the native populations in several European nations are facing decline due to the actions of homosexuals. Bagbin asserted that putting an end to these activities in Ghana would be beneficial for everyone involved.

“For you all to participate in it, count me out of Ghana because I will prefer to join my Maker than to live,” the Speaker of Parliament said.

"I am a Catholic and a staunch supporter of the pro-life movement. I firmly believe that we should not engage in any actions that would bring about the end of the world, as God has deemed it eternal until His return.

The consequences of certain practices are evident in other countries, and I can confidently state that within the next 50 years, there will be no native Europeans left in the world."

Bagbin emphasized that he will ensure the passage of the anti-gay bill during his tenure as Speaker. GhanaWeb reported that the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill is currently being considered in Parliament.

When discussing the bill, Bagbin expressed, "The legislation acknowledges and upholds our cherished family values, distinguishing between what we consider normal and abnormal. It also offers protection to those who, by their inherent nature or circumstances, find themselves in compromising situations. Rest assured, we will pass a law that aligns with the provisions of the 1992 Constitution without causing any offense."
