GTBank delays reopening of banking channels
Guaranty Trust Bank has announced that the migration to its new Finacle Core Banking Application System is experiencing a delay, and as a result, all banking channels, including physical branches, will now open at 12:00 p.m. today instead of the previously planned 9:00 a.m.
Customers are advised to adjust their plans accordingly.
In a message to customers, GTBank stated, "In light of our recent notification about the transition to a new and robust suite of Finacle Core Banking Application Systems, we would like to inform you that this transition has taken longer than anticipated. Consequently, all Banking Channels, including our Branches, which were initially scheduled to reopen at 9:00 a.m., will now open at 12:00 noon today."
GTBank had previously informed customers about the migration to the new Finacle Core Banking Application System, which commenced on Friday, October 11, 2024, and was originally scheduled to conclude by 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024.
The bank expected temporary disruptions in its digital services and branch operations during this period.
However, due to unforeseen delays, all banking channels will now reopen at 12:00 p.m. today.
Earlier reports indicated that GTBank’s branches nationwide closed early on Friday, with plans to reopen this morning.
However, due to the updated timeline, customers will now have to wait until noon for full access to the bank’s services.
During the migration, core services like transfers and bill payments remained available through digital channels, but other services were temporarily unavailable.
