Fubara officially approves the 2024 appropriation bill, making it law

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially endorsed the N800 billion 2024 Appropriation Bill into law. This action follows the presentation of the budget estimates to the State House of Assembly, led by Edison Ehie, just a day prior. The signing ceremony took place on Thursday in the conference room of the Governor's Office at the Government House.

During his presentation to the assembly, Fubara outlined that the N800 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year is geared towards fostering economic development through inclusive growth and tackling socio-economic inequality in the state. The budget comprises a Recurrent Expenditure of 361,598,242,570.85 and a Capital Expenditure of 410,266,485,090.64, totaling N800,392,485,433.01 billion.
