Fresh Attack in Southern Kaduna Claims the Lives of Six Individuals

Terrorists claimed the lives of six individuals on Tuesday night in the Takanai community within the Atyap Chiefdom, situated in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The acting Secretary to the District Head of the Community, Samson Markus, verified the tragic event on Wednesday, as reported by Naija News.

Speaking to The Punch, Markus disclosed that the terrorists invaded the village around 7:00 pm and commenced firing upon arrival, resulting in the deaths of four individuals within the same household and two from another family.

Markus further noted that the victims included two children and that the terrorists departed once the military arrived in the community.

He expressed, "We were going about our normal activities when we heard gunshots. Initially, we assumed it was the military, but it became evident that it was the Fulanis who had come from Zango Urban."

"Prior to the military's arrival, they had already killed six individuals, including two children. The presence of the military frightened them, and they retreated to the hills, vacating the community."

"It's disheartening that these tragic incidents continue to occur in our villages, even when we believed that peace had been restored. We appeal to the government and the military to intensify their efforts and wage war against these terrorists who invade villages and harm innocent people."

This attack transpired merely five days after another incident in Kaura, where a woman lost her life, and two of her children were abducted.
