Driver in Delta State savagely bites off VIO officer's ear in shocking incident
In a dramatic incident that unfolded in Warri, Delta State, a Sienna car driver (identity undisclosed) engaged in a heated argument with a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) named Papu Prosper during their patrol. Shockingly, the driver resorted to biting off Prosper's ear.
This incident took place in the early hours of Friday during a dispute over expired documents, specifically near Eagle Roundabout, adjacent to the Federal Government College, in Warri.
According to Prosper, a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO), the incident occurred during a patrol in Warri, Delta State. They had apprehended a driver whose car had expired documents.
As they were en route to the VIO office in Warri to verify the status of the driver's documents, the situation escalated. Prosper recounted that the driver threatened to kill him, expressing resentment towards VIO officers and brandishing a dagger, intending to harm him severely.
To escape the dangerous situation, Prosper struggled to exit the moving vehicle, engaging in a physical altercation with the driver. Unfortunately, the driver managed to bite off Prosper's ear during the struggle. Subsequently, the driver spat out Prosper's ear onto the ground and fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind.
The VIO now has custody of the Sienna vehicle involved in the incident. Despite the harrowing experience, Prosper expressed gratitude to God for preserving his life. He urged the government to ensure justice is served if the Sienna driver is apprehended.
"I attribute my survival to God, and as for the perpetrator, let the legal system take its course," Prosper concluded.
