Ekiti Native, Chef Dammy, Clocks 85 Hours in Cooking Marathon

Miss Damilola Adeparusi, widely recognized as Chef Dammy, achieved a remarkable milestone on Monday as she surpassed 85 hours in her quest to establish a new record of 120 hours for a cooking marathon, aiming to secure a Guinness World Record title.

According to reports, Chef Dammy is presently engaged in the cooking marathon taking place in Ilupeju-Ekiti, and has relied on a generator set for continuous power supply since commencing the event on Friday.

Residents of Ilupeju-Ekiti, in Oye Local Government Area, have been experiencing epileptic electricity supply for many months before Adeparusi embarked on her quest.

Adeparusi’s friends and colleagues daily storm the house to watch and give her moral support to break the unofficial record set by another chef, Hilda Baci, a few weeks ago.

Some of her colleagues who are students also sleep over at the location while others come to visit and return after enjoying music and various delicacies she is cooking.

Adeparusi displays no signs of weariness or exhaustion in her demeanor or body language, and remains undeterred by negative comments made by certain individuals on social media regarding her pursuit.

Furthermore, it has been noticed that three heavily armed military personnel have been stationed at the premises to ensure the safety and protection of Adeparusi, as well as her supporters, against any potential intrusion by unauthorized individuals.

In addition, cadet officers were positioned at the entrance of the building to uphold orderliness as the cooking marathon continues, while journalists and social media practitioners were observed at the residence.

At the time of this report, Chef Dammy has successfully prepared a wide array of delectable dishes, including Eba, beans with corn, Amala, pounded yam, and rice, among others.
