Pogba has been found positive for a prohibited substance in his system
Reports from Italy suggest that Paul Pogba, the former Manchester United star and French international, has reportedly tested positive for testosterone.
Following Juventus' 3-0 victory over Udinese on August 20, reports suggest that Pogba was summoned for a doping test. Despite not playing and being on the bench as an unused substitute, he was still chosen for a random test.
This initial test purportedly revealed elevated levels of testosterone, and as per various reports, a second sample will now be examined to establish a conclusive outcome.
If the second test confirms a positive result, Pogba could potentially face a two-year suspension from the sport, subject to trial by the National Anti-Doping Tribunal.
The 30-year-old made a return to Juventus in July 2022 on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Manchester United. Unfortunately, he has encountered difficulties with injuries, significantly limiting his playing time since his return to the Italian club.
Pogba boasts a total of 91 appearances for France, a key figure in their victorious 2018 World Cup campaign, but he has not represented the national team since 2022. During his stint with Manchester United from 2016 to 2022, he accumulated 233 appearances, scoring 39 goals, and providing 51 assists.
