Napoli Coach Voices Concerns Regarding Victor Osimhen's Injury Challenges

Napoli's manager, Rudi Garcia, expresses regret over Victor Osimhen's injury woes, acknowledging that the absence of the Nigerian striker is a "significant setback for the team."

Osimhen suffered a medium-grade biceps femoris lesion in his right thigh while on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria. As a result, the 24-year-old will be sidelined for Napoli's upcoming matches against Hellas Verona, Union Berlin (UEFA Champions League), and AC Milan.

Despite having alternative options in the forward positions, Garcia believes that losing his top striker could pose challenges in securing victories for the team. Napoli, having won only four league games this season, faced defeats against Real Madrid and Fiorentina before the international break, adding pressure on Garcia.

The reigning Italian Serie A champions currently occupy the fifth spot on the league table with 14 points in eight games. Responding to Osimhen's injury setback, Coach Garcia conveyed to La Gazzetta dello Sport that finding a solution to cover for Osimhen's absence is crucial.

"We need all our players fit and ready to play, and Osimhen's absence is a big loss for the team," he remarked. "He is an important player, and we must find a solution in his absence."
