Ivorian defender Bailly officially joins Besiktas

Ivory Coast's international defender, Eric Bailly, who spent the previous season on loan at Marseille from Manchester United, has officially completed his transfer to Besiktas, as announced by the Turkish club on Tuesday.

Besiktas did not disclose the contract duration or transfer fee details.

Arriving in Manchester from Villarreal in the summer of 2016, Bailly enjoyed a strong debut season but gradually saw his playing time diminish among United's defenders.

Bailly, aged 29, spent the last season on loan at Marseille with an option to buy; however, his on-field contributions were limited due to a series of injuries.

In a statement, Besiktas expressed their hopes for Eric Bailly's success with the team, believing he will make significant contributions while wearing their illustrious jersey, and they introduced him to the fans with great respect.
