Eagles Players Urged to Consider Property Investment, Advises Finidi
Enyimba Coach, George Finidi, has offered guidance to Super Eagles players, urging them to prioritize property investment for their financial security post-retirement from active football. This advice comes in light of instances where prominent Nigerian footballers faced financial difficulties due to inadequate investments.
The former Ajax winger, who recently guided the Elephants to their ninth Nigerian Professional Football League title in May, emphasized the importance of prudent choices. Finidi cautioned against venturing into unfamiliar business sectors and recommended property investment as a reliable means to safeguard their finances, given its appreciating value and potential for future support.
"My foremost advice to current players is to consider property investment, as it represents a prudent approach to preserving their wealth, appreciating over time, and providing a safety net for the future," Finidi expressed.
"If they venture into uncertain businesses, they could encounter difficulties."
The Eagles' assistant head coach also commended his players for their perseverance throughout the season, despite facing challenges such as unpaid salaries and overdue bonuses.
"While the team had to confront the issue of unpaid dues during the previous season, we collectively focused on the greater objective, which was to secure a championship title by the culmination of the campaign."
"The players embraced that concept, and as a result, we clinched the NPFL title at the conclusion of the season," Finidi remarked.
"Persuading the players wasn't a straightforward task, but we collectively persevered to achieve success despite the challenges. Presently, the players' value has surged due to the championship victory. I emphasized to them that giving their all would lead to triumph."
