Delta maintains its dominance on the medals table, extending its lead
The defending champions, Team Delta, are living up to their previous claim of securing victory at the Seventh National Youth Games on their home turf.
As of yesterday morning, Team Delta held the top position in the medal standings with 21 Gold, 14 Silver, and nine Bronze medals.
Team Lagos secured the second position on the table with 12 gold, nine silver, and eight bronze medals. Following closely were Team Bayelsa and Edo in the third and fourth spots, amassing nine gold, two silver, six bronze and six gold, three silver, and seven bronze medals, respectively.
Meanwhile, one particularly exciting aspect of the Games for the athletes, coaches, and officials is related to the provision of meals.
Leading up to the Games, the Local Organizing Committee, led by Chief Tonobok Okowa, extended invitations to caterers from various parts of the country, including Kaduna, Abuja, Ijebu Ode, Kwara, and Lagos, to prepare food for the athletes in their respective camps.
Expressing their satisfaction with the efficient service they received, some of the caterers commended the LOC and Delta State for their generosity in engaging their services.
