City Assistant Affirms Guardiola's Constant Presence Despite Back Surgery

Juanma Lillo, the assistant manager of Manchester City, conveyed that Pep Guardiola maintains constant communication while recovering from his back surgery in Barcelona.

Guardiola's absence is anticipated for the upcoming match against Sheffield United this Sunday and the subsequent encounter with Fulham, prior to his expected return to Manchester.

Recently, Juanma Lillo resumed his second tenure at City, reuniting with Guardiola after a brief period overseeing Qatari club Al Sadd.

Taking charge on matchday for the English champions at Bramall Lane, the 57-year-old affirmed that Guardiola remains actively engaged in the match preparation process.

"Pep's presence is unwavering! Our communication is constant—through phone calls, video chats, and all means," Lilo stated during City's pre-match press conference on Friday.

"He's currently observing Sheffield United's situation. His well-being is our priority. That's what truly counts."

Lilo emphasized, "His physical absence doesn't alter his essence. He maintains his complete dedication to the team and the upcoming match."
