Chukwueze reveals his mother almost hindered his football career by burning his boots

AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has opened up about his early struggles with his football career, revealing that his mother initially opposed his pursuit of the sport and wanted him to prioritize his academics.

The 24-year-old shared that his mother went to great lengths to discourage him, even going so far as to burn his football boots in an attempt to dissuade him from playing.

"In Africa, developing talent was very challenging. But with hard work and by God's grace, everything eventually fell into place. I faced numerous obstacles before reaching where I am today. It was not an easy journey. My mum didn't support my football dreams initially, as African mothers often believe in focusing on education first. However, circumstances changed. Sometimes, when destiny calls, you cannot ignore it."

Chukwueze further explained, "My mum took drastic steps, like burning my boots and all, but now she has come to believe in football. Previously, she was uncertain about the process, but now she trusts it." The young footballer shared these reflections during an interview with Milan TV.
