Boniface competes for the Bundesliga's Goal of the Month for September
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is among the ten Bundesliga players contending for the Goal of the Month award for September.
Boniface, who displayed outstanding form while representing Bayer 04 Leverkusen during the previous month, is nominated alongside nine other players.
Among the contenders are Xavi Simons for his remarkable drive against Union Berlin, Julian Brandt's impressive volley against Heidenheim, and Benjamin Šeško's sweeping header against Union.
Other nominees include Serhou Guirassy for his lovely flick and header against Mainz, Florian Grillitsch for his sensational strike from his own half against Cologne, and Alejandro Grimaldo for his perfect free-kick against Bayern Munich.
Maximilian Beier is also in contention for his net-busting drive against Cologne, as well as Julian Ryerson for his remarkable solo effort against Hoffenheim, and Jan-Niklas Beste for his fantastic free-kick against Union.
The Bundesliga, through its official website, announced the nomination of Boniface's mazy run and chip against Darmstadt for the September Goal of the Month.
On September 3, Boniface scored twice to help Leverkusen secure a resounding 5-1 victory against newly-promoted Darmstadt in a Bundesliga match at the BayArena.
In the 21st minute, he opened the scoring with an exceptional solo effort, cutting through the Darmstadt defense before elegantly chipping the goalkeeper. After Darmstadt equalized shortly after, Boniface scored his second goal with an assist from Florian Wirtz in the 61st minute.
Boniface then transitioned from being a scorer to a provider, setting up Jonas Hofmann to score Leverkusen's fourth goal in the 67th minute of the German top-flight match. His brace in that game made him one of only three players, alongside former Borussia Dortmund stars Erling Haaland and Paco Alcacer, to record six-goal contributions in their first three Bundesliga games
