Akinkunmi Amoo signs a three-year contract with Omonia

Nigerian international, Akinkunmi Amoo, has officially transferred from F.C. Copenhagen to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus, where he signed a three-year contract. Omonia confirmed the acquisition of Amoo through an announcement on their official website. In their statement, they said, "We have successfully negotiated with FC Copenhagen to secure the services of the 21-year-old Nigerian winger, Akinkunmi Amoo, on a three-year contract. Amoo began his career with Hammarby IF before moving to FC Copenhagen a year and a half later. We warmly welcome Akinkunmi Amoo to the OMONIA family and extend our best wishes for his success."

Akinkunmi Amoo will become a teammate of Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho at Omonia. While at Copenhagen in Denmark, the young forward faced legal issues related to allegations of rape and sexual assault. Notably, Amoo was a part of the Golden Eaglets squad that competed in the 2019 FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
