Alhaji Haruna Suleiman, the Sarkin Hausawa of Enugu, has promised to be fair and just in leading the state’s Northern community.
Suleiman made the pledge while crowning 11 members of his cabinet in Enugu on Thursday. He stated that the community could only enjoy peace and harmony if the leadership was fair.
He stated that the cabinet members were appointed and crowned based on their proven track records, unwavering integrity, and community service.
Suleiman urged them not to rest on their laurels, saying they should do more to unite the state’s Northerners and promote peaceful coexistence with their host communities.
He assured the community that it would continue to support the state government’s policies and programs.
In his remarks, Enugu’s Chief Imam, Zurkallah Sa’id, called for peace, understanding, and cooperation among community members to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings.
Zurkalla reminded the cabinet members that they had been charged with assisting and ensuring that the Sarkin made sound decisions through their advice and guidance.
He warned them not to use their position to enrich themselves or to sow discord, and that they would be held accountable for their actions.
On the community’s leadership squabble, the chief imam, who said he was doing everything possible to ensure an amicable resolution, urged the warring parties to stop causing unnecessary tension.
The Galadima of Sarikin, Adamu Sule, spoke on behalf of the new cabinet members, assuring the Northern community that they would help the Sarkin succeed.
Muhammadu Lawal-Ado (Waziri), Garba Sardu (Shamaki), Nasiru Mahuta (Magajin Garin), Kundiri Dauda (Sarikin Bare Bari), Sani Yahaya (Ajiyan), and Murtala Tijani were among those crowned, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (Dan Madamin).
Buba Dan-Kala (Sarikin Zango Ugwuoba); Garba Muhammadu (Yanrima Ninth Mile); Yunusa Muhamudu (Limanin Fada); and Ibrahim Samaila were among the others (Sarikin Yakin Sarikin). (NAN).
