Tinubu expresses grief over the passing of former Chief of Army Staff, Chris Alli

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his condolences to the family of the late Major-General Chris Alli, former Chief of Army Staff, and the Nigerian Army following his demise on Sunday. The expression of sympathy was communicated in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, on Monday. Major-General Alli served as the Chief of Army Staff from 1993 to 1994, retiring from service thereafter.

In mourning Alli, President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow, characterizing his passing as a poignant loss and acknowledging his faithful service to the country.

The President conveyed, "I extend my condolences to the Alli family and the Nigerian Army on the unfortunate passing of the former Chief of Army Staff. He served his country with honor, retiring with merit. May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest and provide his family with the strength to cope with this significant loss."

Major-General Alli, who previously held key roles like Director of Military Intelligence, was widely respected in the Nigerian Army.
